In honor of the tenth anniversary of Multicultural Affairs, we are compiling stories from students and alumni about their involvement with OMA and the impact its programs, services, and staff have had on their Columbia experiences.
We are accepting both written and video submissions. Please note the format guidelines for each:
- WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS: Share your experiences and reflections through a written piece no more than 250 words. Text can be written directly into the field below or uploaded through the provided link (.doc, .docx, and pdf formats).
- VIDEO SUBMISSIONS: Create a 2 to 3 minute video. When recording and uploading your video we ask that, if possible, you upload in 720p or 1080p, recorded in landscape/horizontal, and in MPEG-4, H.264, or AVI file formats. Most cellphones or new cameras can record in these formats. Videos can be uploaded through the provided link, or you may share the URL to your video.
Stumped on what to say? Here are some prompts to help you:
- How did OMA impact your personal experience at Columbia?
- How has OMA impacted how you understand yourself and/or others?
- How has OMA shaped what you are doing or what your plan to do after graduation?
- Share a favorite memory of OMA (an activity during a workshop, an event or program, an interaction with a staff member). Why was it so memorable? What impact did that moment have?
While we will be collecting narratives throughout the Spring 2015 semester, we ask for submissions by Friday, February 6, 2015. We will compile the text and videos submitted by then into a presentation that we will launch at our Days of Dialogue conference in March.
