You have been assigned an adviser who will reach out to you this summer and work with you throughout your undergraduate career. You can meet with your adviser in the Berick Center for Student Advising as often as you’d like for academic and preprofessional advising or resources and programs supporting your academic success.
Students are encouraged to connect with CCE — even in their first year at Columbia — to learn about career services and programs, which include jobs and internships, career counseling, and resources that will help you to prepare for your professional journey.
Academic Affairs develops and manages the academic curriculum, policies, and procedures for Columbia College; provides direction and support for the Core Curriculum; oversees the academic advising of our students; and assists the faculty of Columbia University in their exceptional work with undergraduates. Academic Affairs includes the Center for the Core Curriculum, Undergraduate Research and Fellowships, and The James H. and Christine Turk Berick Center for Student Advising.
Engineering Student Affairs (ESA) provides programming and services to Undergraduate and Graduate Engineering students that support and enhance the student experience and success. ESA offers holistic guidance from orientation to graduation, including academic advising, class registration, and events that promote student life and wellness. This office is the go-to resource for Engineering students navigating Columbia University.
Student and Family Support provides resources for student wellness, family engagement, and academic integrity for Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students and families.
The Center for Undergraduate Global Engagement supports academic and co-curricular opportunities–including study abroad and global internships, service-learning, research and courses on-campus and abroad—for global learning and engagement. Through the recently established Global Columbia Collaboratory, students have the opportunity to virtually connect with experts and each other, to reflect, collaborate and ideate on some of the world's most complex issues.
Undergraduate Research and Fellowships empowers students to cultivate new knowledge and to grow as individuals and as citizens of the world. It does this by ensuring opportunities that provide intellectual rigor and personal, academic, and professional growth.
Undergraduate Student Life oversees many aspects of student life on campus and advises about 350 recognized student clubs and organizations. Additional student groups are advised through club sports, Community Impact, Hillel and University Life.
