Tune in to Afternoon New Music this Tuesday, February 23rd at 3 pm for an exclusive in-studio interview with Ingrid Laubrock. The 30-minute program will feature Laubrock discussing her new album Ubatuba, as well as her upcoming album release party happening this Saturday, February 27th at the Jazz Gallery.

Originally from Germany, Ingrid Laubrock is a saxophonist, composer and bandleader residing in Brooklyn, NY. Available now on Firehouse 12 Records, Ubatuba is the eponymous release by her newest quintet. Besides the leader, Ubatuba features a hand picked group of musicians such as alto saxophonist Tim Berne, trombonist Ben Gerstein, tuba player Dan Peck and drummer Tom Rainey. The release features all original compositions by Laubrock. The official album release party will feature 2 sets at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Saturday, February 27th at the Jazz Gallery.
