MISSION STATEMENT

WKCR exists to preserve and share music, the arts, and history with listeners in the New York metro area and beyond, curating programming that pushes boundaries while maintaining an eye to historical and artistic value, regardless of commercial significance.

VISION

WKCR will continue a pursuit of artistic exploration that is mindful of historical precedent. We will maintain community-loved programming while continuing to be a space for student involvement in the current musical, artistic, and journalistic landscape.

WKCR-FM, Columbia University’s non-commercial student-run radio station, is dedicated to presenting a spectrum of alternative programming—traditional and art music, spoken arts, and original journalism. Granted its FCC license in 1941, WKCR is both steeped in tradition and committed to innovation. In the New York area, the station can be heard at 89.9 megacycles in FM; worldwide, it streams online.

Giveaway/Contest Rules and Regulations

A giveaway/contest winner will be determined by whoever calls the WKCR listener phone line (212-854-9920) first. Giveaway is valid for all individuals 18 and older. The giveaway/contest begins immediately upon the announcement of the giveaway/contest and will end once the first call (or number of calls relevant to the amount of items to be given away) is received with no set deadline. WKCR is not responsible for technical difficulties experienced by listeners if they attempt to call in.

How can I make a contribution to WKCR?

You can make a contribution on Columbia's pledge page. Please indicate your support for WKCR by typing in WKCR in the fund line. All funds donated through this link go to WKCR specifically and not Columbia University.

However, if you would prefer to mail in a cheque address it to:
