This afternoon, Joke Lanz, aka Sudden Infant, came into WKCR's studios to talk about his music and to play some tracks from Sudden Infant's recording history. Berlin-based Lanz was in town on a U.S. tour, stopping over in New York for two back-to-back shows at Public Assembly. He performed Saturday as Sudden Infant, and Sunday evening in a duo with Shelley Hirsch under his own name. Lanz, a prolific and legendary experimental artist, talked about the progression in Sudden Infant and his own approach towards music and art, as well as about individual releases and particular performances.
