Tune into Afternoon New Music today at 3 PM to hear a live set featuring guitarist, composer, improviser Anders Nilsson joined by Michael Attias on the saxophone and Ken Filiano on the bass. The 45 minute program will feature the trio playing four of Anders's compositions, including "Bumped Geese" and "Disco-mbobulated", as well as a short interview with Anders Nilsson.

Anders Nilsson is a Swedish New York-based guitarist/composer/improviser/teacher. He plays electric and acoustic guitars and a nylon 11-string alto guitar designed by Georg Bohlin. His output spans wide across the musical spectrum covering solo shows (as recorded on “Night Guitar”), Anders Nilsson Group (a rhythmically oriented band in NYC), a duo with saxophonist Michael Attias, improvising unit The Why, Anders Nilsson’s AORTA (a jazz-rock type band in Sweden), to co-leading Fulminate Trio with percussionist Michael Evans and bassist Ken Filiano, Hot & Cold (guitar duo with Aaron Dugan), and Exposed Blues Duo with vocalist Fay Victor. He is a band member in several other groups and is sometimes featured as special guest in other contexts.
