Tune in to the Musician's Show this evening, June 21, from 6:00-9:00 PM ET for a live interview with Ole Mathiesen. Mathiesen is a tenor and soprano saxophonist. Originally from Norway, Mathiesen received his Bachelor degree from Berklee College of Music and his Masters from the Manhattan School of Music. He has performed with a number of world-renowned musicians like Bob Moses, Peter Erskine, Adam Nussbaum and Randy Brecker. Mathiesen’s unique and adaptable saxophone style is equally at home in a late John Coltrane piece as it is in a grooving salsa number. In addition to a rigorous gigging and touring schedule, Mathiesen the director of ensembles for Columbia University’s Jazz department.
