This Friday, June 3rd: 9:00-10:00 p.m., the WKCR Arts Department will air spoken word recordings from Gil Scott-Heron’s debut album Small Talk at 125th and Lenox, in memorial of the late musician and poet. Scott-Heron's work is widely considered an essential precursor to hip hop and to later spoken word and slam poetry movements. This show will focus on readings which feature musical accompaniment.
Hosted by Leena Mahan.
