This edition of Afternoon Classical features Gli uccelli, by Respighi, also known as Bird Song, as we explore a Spring themed repertoire. As the rain throughout Manhattan today continues to remind us of the conflict between a Winter's past and Spring's awakening, we'll explore the world of the Rachmaninoff Vespers and their profound dissonance. This thematic tension will take us into our beloved Bach "Hour," which runs for the remainder of the show, from 4:30pm to 6pm. Join me again on Friday April 26th at 3PM for another exciting edition of Afternoon Classical.
Yours in Rachmaninoff,
