Mr. Un-P.C.
All pieces played on this show were composed for or "performed by" the disklavier (often accompanied by other instruments), except for the final Horowitz/Evans duo.
Composer/performers Elliott Sharp, Steve Horowitz, Miya Masaoko and Veniero Rizzardi came in to the station today to discuss the upcoming Extended Piano Festival which will take place at White Box Gallery (Friday, April 1st — Sunday, April 3rd). There will be numerous works centered around the disklavier: including performances, and installations of compositions for the disklavier. Friday night will feature works by a number of composers, including Sharp and Masaoko. Rizzardi will be part of the the US premiere performance of Stefano Bassanese's "Arbelos." Horowitz is perhaps best known for his use of the disklavier and will be the main feature of Saturday night's program.
