Type 1 Diabetes Club of Columbia University

The mission of the Type 1 Diabetes Club of Columbia University (CU T1D) is to represent and serve the needs of Columbia University’s diabetic undergraduate population and alumni. Established in September 2023 by a group of Columbia students living with Type 1 Diabetes, the club affirms the existing support network by creating official membership, awareness, and access to the Columbia diabetes community. CU T1D is dedicated to the principles of community, empowerment and advocacy and believes in fostering a network of like-minded diabetics, along with a sense of physical and emotional well-being in general chronic-disease management on campus. In order to accomplish these goals, CU T1D will provide guidance to newly diagnosed and incoming diabetic students, host regular social gatherings, and collaborate with established diabetes organizations to provide opportunities for further involvement in the global Type 1 Diabetes community. Columbia is a newly opened chapter of the College Diabetes Network, and is committed to connecting with other chapters in New York and the broader Tri-State area.
