Description
Biomedical Sciences Program/GEMS is designed to introduce undergraduates from diverse and traditionally under-represented groups to biomedical research opportunities. The program consists of lectures, demonstrations, and laboratory research assignments with a mentor. Participating departments include: biochemistry and microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, experimental pathology, human medical genetics, immunology microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and physiology. Each student will receive a $3,400 stipend. Room and board will need to be paid out of the stipend.
