Senior Marshal
Tycho is graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is being recognized for his commitment to the Columbia community via the Columbia Space Initiative (CSI). Throughout his four years at the club, Tycho has led the revival and growth of CSI to become the largest club on campus with over 200 active members. Through creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, CSI has given hundreds of students learning opportunities that have propelled them to land prestigious internships and jobs. Tycho has also co-led the team that launched Columbia’s first-ever rocket in June 2023, weighing over 100 pounds and standing at 14 feet tall, and hopes to follow it up with another one this summer.
I’m incredibly grateful to my family who have always supported me in any endeavor. I want to especially shout out my brother, Skylar, who I was lucky enough to work with here at Columbia on our rocket. I am also thankful for all of the extremely dedicated leaders in CSI who have put blood, sweat, and tears into making it the beautiful community that it is today, especially my fellow classmate Matthew Werneken!
