Senior Marshal
Jonathan Tanaka is a senior in Columbia College studying and leading research teams in philosophy and pure mathematics, with particular interests in analytic metaphysics, metamathematics, mathematical logic, set theory, model theory, the foundations of computer science, and the foundations of physics. He is the founder and executive director of Logic Made Accessible Inc, an internationally recognized educational non-profit that develops free logic curricula for underserved students of various backgrounds all around the world. He is an editor-in-chief emeritus of Gadfly, Columbia's undergraduate philosophy publication, which this past year successfully introduced a new international high school essay competition, a new team of staff writers, and a new experimental print issue. He has directed and co-organized international pre-college philosophy conferences with speakers including top faculty from Columbia, NYU, and UNC. His other Columbia projects include the Veritas Forum, Christian Union Lumine, The Iliad Forum, Rose Research Advising, and The John Jay Society.
