Founded in 2008 of a chapter of the GlobeMed organization, Columbia Students for Global Health Equity and Medicine (GHEM) works to improve the health of people living in poverty around the world. It partners with Gulu Women’s Economic Development and Globalization, a human rights organization based in Gulu, Uganda, to provide health services, economic empowerment, psychosocial support and human rights advocacy for the communities surrounding Gulu.
