Student and Family Support (S&FS) provides multiple resources to address the broad needs of the undergraduate students in Columbia College and Columbia Engineering (SEAS). Our office includes:
Student Wellness
Providing case management and support to students who are in distress related to medical and psychological concerns, life traumas, and other barriers that impede their success.
Family Engagement
Offering support, guidance, and opportunities to get involved, both for parents and students. We plan and host Family Orientation in August and Family Days weekend in October. Our weekly newsletter to students and parents provides information for what’s happening on campus and what’s interesting and important to know.
Academic Integrity
Providing educational programming and reflective educational meetings to promote a campus culture that supports honesty in the way knowledge is shared, created, and evaluated. Our program director meets with students referred through the conclusion of the Dean’s Discipline process when students are found responsible for violations of academic integrity policies. For more information, visit the Academic Integrity website.
Together, S&FS serves as a point of contact and a support system for students, families, and colleagues. We work interdependently with many campus resources in an effort to continually provide holistic assistance and respond to student concerns related to every area of their Columbia Journey.
In short, we can help.
Visit our Important Dates page to find out when and what to put on your calendar, and why.
Email addresses are critical for communication across the Columbia community. Be sure yours is up to date. Students can check this in their Student Services Online (SSOL) profile and submit a form at any time if changes need to be made.
