Bio
My name is Mariah Viman and I have majored in architectural design. Throughout my architectural career at Barnard College of Columbia University, I have pushed boundaries and redefined what architecture can represent through the eyes of a black artist. I have dedicated the last two years to exploring the intersections of architecture, art, race, and fashion. My work is not only an amalgamation of architectural creations, but a story, a visual narrative of my tensions and reservations within a field that is underrepresented and exclusionary. What I leave upon graduating is my story, my ancestry, and most importantly, my legacy. Following graduation this spring I will be focusing on my modeling career as well as digitizing the fashion industry on a three-dimensional scale, and more importantly, finding ways to make fashion more accessible for up and coming black and brown creatives.
