Asatta Mesa is a senior majoring in Political Science. At Columbia, she has held leadership positions in multiple extracurricular organizations and fostered her passion for ameliorating racial wealth inequality through her academic pursuits. She would like to thank her family for supporting her education, for teaching her empathy, faith, resilience, and for uplifting her in times when she struggled to uplift herself. She would also like to thank her professors, especially Professor Judith Russell, for encouraging her to be a more passionate and critical thinker.
