Bio

Bryn Evans (she/her/hers) imagines, looks, and moves in Decatur, Georgia. Her breathing comes by, through, and with her kin’s. Bryn's senior theses engage abolitionist praxis and its relationship to Southern Black geographies, visual culture, the built environment, and vernacular poetics. Her writing and creative projects have appeared in The Columbia Review, Quarto Magazine, and Hoot Magazine. Without God, none of her work would be possible. Words cannot describe how grateful she is for her parents (Shaleta and Greg), sisters (Briana and Bryneé), uncles and aunties (Shirley, Dorris, Marion, Katrina, Sharonne, and so many more), grandparents (Julia Mae, Gloria Katherine, and Sidney Lanier), cousins, boyfriend, friends, mentors, and chosen family for their love and support over the years.
