Senior Marshal
Clara Hu is a senior at Columbia College studying psychology and mathematics. Her academic journey is marked by a commitment to advancing social justice through research and community engagement. On campus, Clara dedicates her time to working as a research assistant at the Laboratory of Intergroup Relations and the Social Mind under Dr. Valerie Purdie-Greenaway, where she studies anti-DEI sentiments and legislation. As the co-Vice President of the Columbia University UNICEF Club, she–along with her Executive Board members–recently planned and hosted 200+ attendees and 21 speakers at the club’s first annual Spring Gala, which fostered conversation centered around children’s and human rights. She is also a choreographer, dancer, and previous Treasurer of Orchesis, as well as a member of the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review and Columbia Medical Review. Off campus, Clara has worked in the legal field at various capacities–from assisting in immigration clinic to second-chairing the prosecuting attorney in a domestic violence trial as an intern at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
I am incredibly grateful for my incredible support system here at Columbia and back home. Thank you to my family for your endless support and love, and for always providing me with the opportunities to achieve my dreams. A special thank you to my LIRSM, Orchesis, and CU UNICEF friends and mentors who have become a second family to me here at Columbia.
