Monique Benjamin is recognized for her leadership within the Columbia Athletics community and beyond. She served as a senior leader on the women's varsity softball team and as co-president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee where she helped plan and execute events around student-athlete mental health, community service, and inclusion. She was selected as one of two Ivy League Student-Athlete Representatives from Columbia to advocate and act on the behalf of Columbia student-athletes at the conference level. Additionally, Monique spent the last year working with the Make a Play Foundation providing career development training to student-athletes of color across the nation. Outside of athletics, Monique also served as vice-president of the Be The Match Columbia chapter where she encouraged peers to register as potential bone marrow donors.
